In 2005, I sat up in bed thinking about a miniature porcelain mug I picked out for my mom when I was just 4-years-old at a "Secret Kids Shop" type-of-place around the holidays. It read "I love You Mom." I was so excited that I picked it out all by myself so I made my mom open it on our drive home - I could not wait.
I thought "why isn't there a place for kids to design gifts, it's 2005?" My idea was born, but I had no idea how to accomplish such a large goal.
I attempted to start trying in 2006, but I didn't have much momentum.
In 2014 I got serious, quit my job, went to trade shows and markets, researched, and listened. I recruited people to help me. And today, Good Makery is just being born.
Like a good mom, she kept this ugly mug out for years.
